AI taking other AI jobs!?
When DeepSeek was announced for the first time, we witnessed a big chunk of money taken out of the US markets with major hits being taken by the largest tech companies. One AI model almost fired another, ironical isn’t it?
Where does DeepSeek and the AI world stand right now?
DeepSeek is the story of the underdog. Where Sam Altman claimed there wasn’t any cost-effective way to build a powerful large language model, deepseek swept through the competition reinstating what was truly possible. It costed pennies compared to the cost of other LLMs, gave efficient answers and is way cheaper to run.
Does that mean that AI will have a smaller economic market?
To put it simply, the answer is NO. I believe with models getting cheaper, they can be used in more and more domains until they are anywhere and everywhere. The demand is only going to increase in the long run. The entry ticket of making and mainting an AI model has dropped, and so, it provides opportunity to more small enterprises to join the race with the giants.
The next race is to reach AGI or Aritificial General Intelligence, which is basically a humanoid. But we will have to draw a line of where does the functionality of robots stop or else we need to get ready to face our arch-enemies, the one we created ourselves.
